Krugman On the Housing Bubble

I disagree with Paul Krugman from time to time but he presents an excellent breakdown of the credit problems stemming from the housing bubble here.

In general, Krugman, despite being an economist, usually has a good grasp on reality. It probably has something to do with his political bent as politics means you have to deal with reality, as opposed to equations. I’ve not read any of his political work but his book, The Return of Depression Economics, is a great look at the emerging market + Asian currency crises of the 1990′s.

I may have to check out his latest book, The Conscience of a Liberal, but though I’m generally sympathetic to the progressive viewpoint (and the more progressive, the better), the main problem I have with liberals is the constant focus on giving people fish rather than teaching people to fish.
