I’ve been a little lax on keeping tabs with Chesapeake Energy (guess it demonstrates my faith in Aubrey McClendon and his team).  I read some stories on their Q4 2007 results, which looked good on the surface.  This morning, they held a conference call to announce eight possible new plays.  You can find an informative preview on Seeking Alpha by Zman, whose work is heavily focused on quick-hitting options and short-term inventory movements for my taste but generally has some good fundamental insights when he focuses on that.

Zman does mention some of the peculiarities of CHK’s current financial position which I’ve detailed my initial report and updates.

I’ll probably get around to listening to that conference call later this week and hopefully, post something a little later.
